Made me want to draw again!

Miss Magpie Fashion Spy

I came across this fashion illustrator at work and i think her work is stylish fun at its best.

She has worked for any fashion houses and for adverts.

I think will be blowing dust off my watercolour set to try to creative similar drawings!

Jean Paul Gaultier Exhibition

I finally went to the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition at the Barbican and i learnt there was much more to this famous fashion designer than just french punky stripy t shirts and pointy bras!!

FAVOURITE COLLECTION

This collection was amazing and highly dramatic.. with elements of italian religion saints and tutor royals.

FAMOUS LINGERIE

Jean Paul Gaultier is renown for his twist on lingerie by using different structures and materials.
He gave Madonna her famous pointy bust!

I would have loved to have tried on all the corsets!

MUSES - Jean Paul has any unconventional muses however Dita Von Teese is one i can imagine in most of his corsets.

So the nearest i will get to his beautiful underwear..is his perfumes. I have one already lets hope i can collect the lot!

OUTFITS FOR THE WEEK

On a sunday evening i like to plan out my outfits for the week at work,
just so i'm not rushing in the morning.
Also when you work in Fashion it is important to look good each day.
Gives me a previous extra 15 minutes in bed!
After checking the weather i selected the below looks...

MONDAY: A Preppy Look

I've never been a massive fan of barbie pinks, however this bold hot pink is amazing!
Im a massive fan of collar tips to make any outfit sophisticated.

Pink shirt - Primark
Fred Perry skirt - Vintage Shop
TUESDAY: Tropical Trousers

I got this trousers in a sample sale and would normally have avoided them as they are very bright. However with a plain white top it tones the trousers down...plus its summer..colour is allowed.

White top - H&M
Tropical trousers - Sample sale

WEDNESDAY: Country Dungaree Dress

I only brought this denim dungaree dress recently but i think its a classic fashion staple.
I feel a bit Alexa Chung in this outfit!

Dotty top - Charity Shop
Denim Dungaree Dress - ASOS

THURSDAY : 80's Sequins and blazer.

At work we have been invited to a 80's inspired party...fancy dress is optional however i thought i'd go a little 80's.
Sequins and a big blazer will do.

White Blazer - New Look
Graphic logo Tshirt - New Look
Sequin Skirt - New Look

After a late night on thursday i think fridays outfit will be a bit plainer ....jeans and a nice top!

Everyone knows the saying Carpe Diem - Seize the Day!

I'm trying to live by this...however my boyfriend loves it so much he got a tattoo of it.
Therefore as a joke moving in present i made him a Carpe Diem cushion.

Was super easy...this is how i did it! You should have a go!

FIRST - Inspiration Ideas on ways to do the text:

SECOND
All you will need:
1. Plain Cushion - I brought a grey one from Matalan -£6.00
Or you could make a cushion if you have time.
2. Blue felt - Hobbycraft.
3. Matching blue thread.
4. Scissors and needle.

THIRD

Draw out the letters on to the felt and cut out.

Place the letters on the cushion cover (remove the inside cushion) try to keep letters in the middle and straight.

Pin the letters on.

In the same colour thread sew around the letters with a neat stitch. Don't worry too much as the stitches will not be as visible.

Put the cushion back in....there you have it!

A lovely simple cushion.

The best part is you can really customise to the person... perhaps a name or date?

WIRELESS FESTIVAL.

I've been to many festivals... however day festivals can be tricky. What do you wear?
I decided to go with a Boho hippy look... completed with a beautiful floral headband.

Boho Hippy Look:
Style Tip: If a leotard is too low at the back (and like me you would rather wear a bra) wear a pretty printed bando underneath.

Where to get this look:
1: Floral head band - Accessorize
2: Black Leotard - ASOS
3. Kimono - New Look
4. Denim shorts - Vintage cut up jeans.
5. Belt - Charity Shop
6. Bando - Topshop
7. Bumbag - Amazon (studs added on by hand)
What i love about having a creative group of friends is seeing what outfits they come up with.
My friend went for a gangster street look - think Khloe K.
She will love the fact i've compared her to a Kardashian.
She wore a beachwear see through dress with a black top and shorts underneath.
 Street Look:

Style Tip: You can buy cycling shorts however if you have any old leggings try cutting those to the knee or higher?

Where to get this look:
1.  Dress - River Island
2. Cycling Shorts - River Island
3. Crop Top - River Island
4. Head bando - River Island
5. Buckle Boots - New Look.

Oh yeah don't forget the ghetto gold to finish the look.
