Glastonbury Festival

With it being the Festival season i'm constantly looking at what's being worn ...and who the fashion festival icons are....strangly this year Emma Watson has managed to grab attention!
I feel this is a new side to Emma we never see...as the face of Burberry she is portrayed as a preppie English rose however i quite like her more relax style....
but is it truely her taste or has she been influenced by her rocker boyfriend

Vintage Fashion Show

My friend Katie was involved in helping out with a fashion show to promote a Vintage shop called Petal's Loft in Bexleyheath...

Firstly my mate Francesca and i had been assigned to dress back stage however when a model dropping out i ended up modelling...which was a first..

however with the lovely vintage clothing and iconic make up...i was only happy to...oh yeah and that glass of champagne helped!!!

All the models pre show....i'm bottom left

Make up Looks

Brigitte Bardot

Each of the models had an iconic make up style for different eras...while watching the other models have their make up done i was hoping for a 1940's look however my look was inspired by French Actress Brigitte Bardot...
Was wondered about my roots but seems Brigitte didn't care!

Someone said i looked a bit like a Pan's People dancers and with the

Top of The Pops music playing in the background seemed only to ironic

The Outfits

I had about 8 outfits but this was
my favourite a 1932 Wedding Dress

1960's Shift Dress

Most of the outfit i wore.

Trinkets and Treasures

On the catwalk there were displays of accessories and bits and bobs...see the pearl braclet i brought it!!!

It was a successful show.....It seems Vintage fashion will live on for a long time....However after i showed my black knickers through a white wedding dress .... i think my modelling days are over!!

Graduate Fashion Week.

Right London Fashion Week was a couple of week ago now and this is my first opportunity to write about it...as i'm going into my third year i was interesting to see what other universities and students had chosen for their Final Major Projects....

In Earls Court June 2010

This was a creative way to show of the students talents by drawing live illustrations...

One of the stalls...

Maxi....Mad!!!

Chloe S/S 2010

Etro S/S 2010

Aquascutum S/S 2010

Stella McCartney S/S 2010

Mischa Barton in a Maxi Dress....This is a classic style..which i am trying to find.

Ok i confess at first i was shocked that Maxi dresses were back in...however this season they have been revamped ..their floaty...delicate and highly femimine... in fact hidding more can appear sexier...

So i'm currently hunting for the perfect Maxi Dress...

My own Fashion Illustrations

When i read that Rankin had taken photographs of students work i thought about looking back at some of his previous pieces...i found many photo shoots i recognised from magazines however these are some i particularly liked...or should i say Rankin worked his magic on...

Graduate Fashion Week...Who to watch out for...

Anna Lee - De Montfort University Source: Vogue website
This time next week i'll be at Earls court looking at Fashion graduates work with the hope to be inspired. Last year i enjoyed watching the design students garments on the catwalks ...however on the Vogue website there is a preview of some of the students designs....not just that but they were lucky enough to have reknown fashion photographer Rankin photograph their creations...what a brillant Graduation present....
So i'll be looking out for the graduates who Vogue considered to be fresh new talent and see what i think....keep u updated blog...
Check out the Rankin photos at www.vogue.co.uk/news/daily/100603

I'm a FREE BITCH baby.....

Show Studio has been known for innovating the way the internet is used to express art, fashion and photography ...from the live photo shoots with Nick Knight to live art instillations...

This time the site has lauched live interviews with inspirational people....i have always admired Lady Gaga but in a different way to main stream fans...some fans love her music...her dancing or her costumes...however i wished to discover more about the really lady Gaga and the way she has radically transformed fashion and preformance art.

I have seen interviews with Lady Gaga before however this time i felt compelled to watch as she was more relaxed and her personality crept through even swearing at times. She made strong points on fashion, feminism and her love for her fans.I truly warmed to her and her way of viewing the world...she has no bad words to say about anyone which is such a lovely quailty.. which is something we could all learn from. She has obviously made such a strong impression on the fashion world as she has many famous friends ranging from Nick Knight to Philip Tracey..However at times i saw distress in her eyes and she revealed how trapped she felt by the media which she claims to have over come..

She states she is a free bitch .. i wish to believe this but i worry that she isn't.....

Lady Gaga wore a smart mascline outfit which had a strong reference to the look Madonna created in the Vogue music video even the make up and styling was similar...was she paying homage to Madonna??....interesting she does state her love and admiration for Madonna.

Madonna in Vogue video

One word to describe your style.

"FREE"

Lady Gaga

She recalls her favourite and most shocking outfit as the bleeding dress which she wore at the VMA in 2009.

So its worth watching the full interview at http://live.showstudio.com/
You may not agree with how i feel about Lady Gaga but hopefully you will learn to love what she means to the fashion world!!!!
